OUR STORY

Curundu Coffee is infused with the Panamanian Spirit!

Curundu Coffee is a Washington, DC-based importer and roaster of high-quality coffee from the highlands of Panamá. Will Colbert and Erick Edwards founded the company upon realizing the absence of Panamanian coffee in most U.S. establishments. Inspired by Panamá's renowned coffee, the duo launched Curundu Coffee to bring a broader awareness of Panamanian coffee's exceptional flavors. Will, a Washington, D.C. resident with Panamanian roots, and Erick, based in Panamá, collaborate to bridge the gap in the U.S. market, creating a connection between coffee enthusiasts and the country they love.

TERROIR

The highlands of Panamá are characterized by their distinctive volcanic soil. As coffee beans ripen, they absorb the essence of the soil and the crisp mountain air, imparting delightful floral and fruity notes. In the high-altitude regions of Boquete, the ideal microclimates foster the gradual maturation of coffee cherries, resulting in a rich and complex flavor profile.

TRACEABILITY

We personally visit our farming partners to ensure they follow the best practices, resulting in the highest quality coffee beans while upholding ethical and environmentally sustainable processes that contribute to biodiversity. Nestled in the lush highlands of Panamá, our coffee farms serve as natural preserves for local wildlife, playing a vital role in fostering biodiversity.

COMMUNITY

Paying farmers a fair price for their crops can uplift communities. Curundu Coffee believes in providing a living wage to those who make our business possible. We are also exploring an opportunity to work with a charitable organization that provides resources for the underserved children of Boquete, Panamá. We want to share Panamá’s exquisite coffee but not at the expense of Panamanian communities.

THE TEAM

The founders of Curundu Coffee have not only a deep love and connection to coffee but also Panamá. The beautiful Central American country is where they both call home.
